Is my leather toadstool mushroom dieing

I got It yesterday. I was closed up from the drive from lfs to home. It opened up and has stayed open. I lifted it out this morning cause it drooping. It didn't smell nut this afternoon I see prices of it's leather shedding.

Nitrates are a bit high 20.
I haven't tested .ca.mg .alk which I will later today. Last wc was yesterday a 60g tank.

If you just got it yesterday it's probably just closed up from stress from the move. I know mine closed up for over a week before it started poking its tentacles out. How high up in the tank do you have it?

Leathers are very hardy! Hope it makes it! I bet it will with good water parameters, probably just adjusting period.

I DoD have it on the bottom but moved it up between middle and top

Keep him low to middle of the tank, they dont need much light

Got it in the middle range. I blew it off with a turkey baster. And now it looks like it did in the lfs. Looking healthy.

Mine was closed up for close to a week after purchase before it started showing its polyps.

Perhaps a coincidence, but I did have mine at the bottom of the tank, and decided a few days in to move it to middle/top of tank. Next day it was opened up. Its been doing really well since.

Side note, your PH should probably be a bit higher (imo), above 8.0 at least, aim for 8.3.
