I have a 36in orbit marine pro led light. I'm a little confused in regards to how many watts it has?! 36 or 52 watts? I have a 65gal 36x24x18, can someone let me know please, thank you!

Sorry MAN-O-WAR,...don't know anything about these lights but here is a free bump for your thread. Someone will be along shortly with more information.

Model 4111- 36 watts
Model 4112- 52 watts
Going by those two models... I would have to say you might have enough light for softies with model# 4112 and model# 4111 I would personally use in a fish only tank. Your probably noticing quite a bit of shadowing towards the back and front of your tank with just one fixture though? I would most definitely recommend two of the model# 4112 for your tank size if you like the lights. Even with two you wouldn't have enough light output for any coral requiring strong lighting.

I had a similar light on my 20g L and I was able to keep my LPS but there was absolutely no growth and 2 sps dead corals, had it for a year. It was extremely unfortunate and I looked on craigslist and was able to find some reef breeder values for $60 used. I'm already seeing crazy growth on all my corals (mixed reef), the values aren't programmable but go buy a cheap $10 analog timer and works like a champ! Best of luck!

MAN-O-WAR...your concern on what the watts your fixture is outputting is telling me you have corals or considering them. I would really consider other lighting options if "thriving" coral care is what you seek. There are so many reef led options available today that surpass your lighting fixture and for less money.

It's 4112, thanks for the help! Lol, I was told I could put anything in the tank, clams etc. Here is what it looks like... image.jpeg

I appreciate it! It was very expensive from my LFS "438$" and was told I could put anything in the tank! Here is a pic

I don't really mind not having growth, I just want them to thrive and be healthy! Do you think they would at least live? I was told by my LFS and obviously current company that they were fine, lol! So I just don't know anymore...

You could keep softies and even some lps higher up but honestly I would try to get my money back for 438 you could have got a lot better light.

Thank you Bobman, do you know why this LFS would sell me a light this expensive? Especially when there is other lighting cheaper and works better! Is it because they don't know what there doing?

Its a business they are out to make money and they did. I do not know your LFS so cant comment on there knowledge but you should research everything before you buy it. Dr fosters and smith have that light for $323 and IMO thats still to high.

MAN-O-WAR... you paid what??? MAN-O-WOW! They know what they are doing...trying to make money is what. With the led fixtures available today I wouldn't take your lights for free. Please, return it without hesitation. There are fully programmable units for less then half of what you paid that will allow clams and sps to thrive. Please, come back to this community when you get your money back and we will give you experienced advice. I'm sorry you got dragged over the coals.

They should live! My frogspawn has been with me the entire time. A torch about 6 months now and they're both doing great now with my new light they're both growing new heads! Unfortunately I've lost 2 different Zoas and some Duncan's. Idk if I can blame the light or something else crazy happened. Keep me posted on what you decide to do!

MAN-O-WAR...judging by the pumps you have..you look to have good movement in your tank..and I like your aquascaping. Live and learn. We have all made such "mistakes" in this hobby.

I completely agree with you in regards to everything you said! I just wrote a email to my LED manufacturer in regards to that very same thing! I'm not giving up!

Lol, MAN-O-WOW! I wrote Current and said those same things to them!

I think orbit marine pro is the new version of their old orbit marine led. It is quite good compare to old version. Higher wattage chips than what Qh2214 owned I think. The R2R sponsor Oceanbox design has a same led on his tank. Dont be too harsh on yourself. They have better spectrum and higher wattage than most of the strip light on the market. The only drawback is they put a huge price tab. They are not worth for the price when compare with AI hydra or maxspect razor.
