So for a few months I have been fighting a severe green algea bloom due to some miss guided info. I have it under control now and wanted to know if my green mini carpet going to be ok

Add a bag of chemipure blue or elite which will clear up the bloom and keep the phosphate and nitrate in check which is likely what’s upsetting it

Got the chemi pure blue. I have a HOB filter. What all do I need to keep in there? Right now I have a filter and the chemi pure blue in it. Also does it go in front of filter or back?

Generally, besides quarantine tanks, you dont see too many HOB filters on salt water tanks due to the low turn over rate.
I would put the chemipure after the sponge if you follow the flow of water to negate any detritus buildup on the bag.

Is your HOB filter atleast double oversized?
This may be the cause of why youre having water clarity issues.

It does 75 gallons. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment so don’t have much room for a canister filter and the tank is sitting on my bar

It looks like a green Stichodactyla mertensii. They like to mount their foot to rock, not inside a crevice, but on top. Is it very sticky? One sign of being healthy is that it attaches to rock with its tentacles (both top and bottom side). Is the mouth gaping? I wouldn't be too worried about it in the first picture if its mouth is not gaping.

If the water quality looks like that, that is your main issue.

Have you run any nitrate or phosphate tests?
Do you know what your parameters are?

How big is the tank?

29g. I took water samples to lfs and they said my nitrate was a bit high. Haven’t tame home test cause I just did 40% water change and treating with chem blue. So going to check it in the morning

I would recommend buying some test kits and get a grasp on your parameters and how to tell there is a problem without having to visit the fish store.

Example, salinity, ph, temp, alk, cal, mag, nitrate and phosphate should be the basic kits you have at home. I would recommend salifert.

Are you using RO DI for top off and salt mixing?
What is your salinity at?
How are you checking?

I'd definitely suggest "less light, and less food" until things get cleared up.
