Hey everyone, so I got a sailfin tang the other day (saturday) and acclimated it for a few hours and all was fine and dandy. It swam around, scared the other fish and ate some dinner. Then on Tuesday we found him in the back corner of the tank behind a rock just hanging out. He was there until today when he left, swam around for a bit, albeit a bit haphazardly and he is now sitting in the bottom front corner alternating leaning against a rock and going horizontal and drifting to the substrate.

I've tried feeding him since Tuesday but he hasn't really been interested; I've given him caulerpa, nori, and nori soaked in garlic and he hasn't touched a thing.

What can I do for him, anything? He doesn't have any spots on him so I don't think it's Ick, he's starting to worry me.

My fiancee's happiness or sorrow depends on me figuring out what's wrong. :(

Just give him time and a stress-free environment. I'd possibly keep the lights off a bit more to let him settle down. If he's bring pushed around and not swimming much there isn't much you can do but hope and give him the best environment possible.

Good luck and I hope things turn around for you.

Thanks btkrausen, I really want him to survive and I've been doing everything I can think of. I just hope all my moving food towards him and such hasn't been hurting him.

When I tested yesterday dkh was 8, calc was 400, nitrates were near zero(as close to zero as can be seen by a reef master test kit) as were phosphates. The tank is a 75 gallon and the sailfin is about the size of a quarter or half dollar.
