Is my plate coral looking okay? He is still very orange but has something going on the only thing new is I got a shipment of coral from corn bread and I’m acclimating them in the sand bed and I have about a inch and a half from him he’s very neon with the blues on and looks dark with whites on

Looks okay. Not fully inflated, but could be acclimating. Make sure no other corals can sting it. Keep on the sand, low flow and lower light initially. Should be good. I do not see any exposed skeleton in the pic. Feed it once it is settled a bit. They are so cool to watch eat.

I agree it looks ok as long as you don’t see any tissue falling off or decaying it should be fine. It might be adjusting to the lights if your running a different setup since you are acclimating new coral.

I have them turned down to about 45% blue 0% white from when I normally run 60% blue 0% white

His issue is like losing color but not white bleaching just kinda grayish

Bump update he is looking a little worse, do you think he’s getting too much light I run blues 45% for about 10-11 hours a day

These guys inflate and deflate according to light and flow. So in the night, sometimes they are really fluffy and ready to eat. In the day they may be inflated too, if flow is low. When light changes, they will deflate.

They also will stay in tight like that if something is bothering them. Too much light, too little, too high flow, crab, shrimp, fish, etc. Make sure that is not happening. From the picture, I do not see corals nearby that would be bothering it.

Looks more like the lights just came on adjustment. However, if they have been on, either something bothered it or flow is off and light too high/low. I do not know what that par would be for leds. I still am old school t5s and mh.

My orange one took about a month to acclimate. I've noticed they take longer when they come from a frag rack vs sand to acclimate in the tank.

I’ve heard that but when I bought it at my lfs it’s was all bright orange and it was the same in my tank for about a week and a half and then one day it started looking like that
