My Plate coral has been looking bad the last three days.
I decided to move it today and saw some kind of shedding from the bottom.
Is it dying and should I remove it?

It's definitely looking pretty rough. What are your water parameters like? I would try to fix whatever is ailing it before removing it entirely. I've seen worse off corals make a comeback.

Never toss a plate... if you think its dead, just toss it in the back of the reef. Sometimes they will die off, and produce multiple babies on the old skeleton.

But yeah, its not looking good.

Unfortunately, that looks about the same as a few plates I tried keeping some time ago before they died. How long have you had it? They have a pretty poor long term survival record despite often being labeled as 'easy.' I wouldn't move it unless fish / crabs etc are picking on it or if it's getting sand, especially if it did well in that spot for a longer period. I've heard stories of some coming back even after months. Best of luck hope it pulls through!

I've had this plate for only about three weeks. @EmdeReef

Alk is a little low, I would try to get it back up to 8 at least.

How old is your tank? Your still getting nitrite readings? Also your parameters are low, especially alkalinity and magnesium.

What color is the discharge you noticed on the bottom? I just saw you mention that, is it brown-ish?

Something could be irritating it my plate doesn’t like the sand bed I have it on some egg crate had it on a flat piece of rock but it inflated and moved off the rock. I would try and feed it. After I moved tanks different sand is when it started to loose the tissue on the bottom. Still going strong 1 year later.
