I added my xenia around 2 weeks ago and it was fine at first but I wanted it on an island as I've heard it can take over.
Since I moved it its not extending at all though it is moving a little.
I've tried moving it to less/more flow, does it maybe need more light?
The water seems fine and my frogspawn is still happy as Larry

Definitely not happy. These are hardy corals. They need quite a bit of light and moderate flow. I would move it higher up. Also...is your tank too clean maybe? They like a tank with higher nitrates

Nitrates are around 30. I will try moving it higher then but it wont be on an island then so hopefully it wont take over haha
Thank you

Also, check salinity and mag. Mine did this when I had a sharp drop in both

Hard to tell from the pic. Some pieces are upright and mostly all are open. Doesn’t look bad to me. If they were all balled up and never open, then more need for concern. But I wouldn’t keep moving it. Xenia are hardy and they actually can move to find a place to survive. They will start popping up in random places.
