Is my Purple Gorgonion alright?

I have a purple sword/ribbon gorgonian that hasn't shown its zooanthids in 6 days. I fed it reef roids and it ate them happily previously. My water parameters are

Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0.25
Nitrates: 20
pH 8.2

I'm still cycling so no other stock in the tank currently and the nitrites are on their way down. Is it just dormant right now? Does it need more light maybe? I am leaving the lights on for only a few hours a day to avoid an algae bloom. Any suggestions are welcome!

Mine does the same thing from time to time, then sheds and is happy for a while.

I'm sure you already know this but you should not have coral in there during your cycle. Your Gorgonian is a pretty sensitive coral to boot. Mine gets ticked if PO4 is high as well... doesn't seem bothered by nitrates. What's your PO4 at?
