Ive had my Ecotech Radion LEDs for about a month now, I just picked up a RBT anemone about a week ago. It seems that it like to stay in the crevices of my rocks and only the tips of it are sticking out. Im worried that I have the settings for my LEDs too high... my current lighting schedule is for 8hours daytime with max intensity at 75% for only 3hours, and the rest is of the time the max is at 60%. is it normal for RBT Nems to craw into crevices or what should I do? will post pics of the nem soon! btw, I did acclimate the Nem with lighting off for 24 hours, initially the following day after acclimating he was perched on top of the highest rock in the tank and slowly he started to move into the crevice right below that rock! thanks for any advice and opinions

How are your corals responding to the light?

My corals seem to be loving the LEDs Rev. polyp extension on everything is amazing, especially the SPS! I had 250w MH prior to these LEDs and never noticed it open up as much as it does with the radion. thats another thing Im worried about, if I dimmed down the Lighting a tad for the RBT, will that affect my corals?

IME BTAs will disappear into the rock for up to a couple weeks when first placed into a new tank. They have the ability to determine their own amount of light exposure. It is probably just getting accustomed to your tank, and will come out more and more. I see thriving BTAs under 1000 watt halides in my local area, and I don't think you have anything to worry about.

IMO the best way to acclimate anemone's to lighting is to use 3 layers of window screen and remove a layer every two to three days. This way the lighting slowly gets more and more intense and the nems doesn't even notice the change. They also like to have their foot hidden, I find it helps to surround the foot with rocks to give it a place to tuck in. Good luck, I hope he does well for you.

Hey thanks guys! I didn't think the radion was a problem, but glad I got things confirmed! I've used the screen method on numerous corals in the past when I had the MHs, but the great part about radion is that I can set the intensity lower initially an raise it up over a period of time! I guess I was just getting antsy because the nem was fully blossomed at the LFS when I got it! Fingers crossed that it will be fine!

Mine did the same thing with my Radions at 45% I have them up to 50-55% for part of the day. just move up your intensity 5% a week and that seems to be slow enough for the BTA's. LED sure is different light then T5 though. I love these lights!!!!!!
