Like the title says, just bought a used reef. Thought they were safe, but my memory may be lacking! ;)

Have a good day!

Soft corals don’t possess the hypodermic needles/ sweeper tentacles carrying nematocysts associated with stinging neighboring soft corals. These corals use chemical warfare to injure and kill neighboring corals.
You could try moving your coral around, increase water filtration and perform weekly water changes to start. Carbon and other chemical filtration media can also help reduce these toxins from accumulating in palegic areas of your tank.

Thanks my man! :)
All those things I am on top of, the waterflow in the spot is not stagnant or anything, rather the opposite. Gonna have a look today when the lights come on to see how it looks. Cant really move it either. Very big boulders for a rsm 130 (and I even threw 2 big ones out), the old owner let it do its thing. So there are discosoma and rhodactis pretty much every where...

Kenya polyps close like that typically when something touches it.
I sat observing it yesterday. I could see like you say as soon as the tree touched anything it closed up that spot. But after a while it opened up again. The spot I marked did not open. Gonna have a look today how it looks when lights come on. :) Thanks!
