Hi all,

hoping to get some insight with my sand sifting star. Over the weekend I got a sand sifter, and over the past day or so I’ve noticed it’s been climbing up the glass and “zooming” around the tank (reminds me of a very slow motion dog when they get the zoomies because it’s all over the place). Is this normal behavior? I don’t want to worry about it starving, I called the LFS I got him at and they said it’s nothing to worry about, but still was hoping for more info. Thanks all!

I have had a few of them over the course of my time in the hobby, and they have always been very active. Some will disappear into the sand for days and others not as much but either way all of them have been incredibly active on the glass and on the surface of the sandbed. Just my personal experience with them

I had one 4 years ago and done the same thing .
Climbing up glass until one day I never saw
Hope you have a lot of micro fauna . It will slowly starve to death . I think that’s what happened to mine
