I had the same problems with my sps. Random parts of my sps colonies would start to die and slowly the coral would wither away. It was very hard to see signs of pest while the colony was still in the tank.
I denied having pest and kept blaming other things.
Turns out I have aefw and man I wish I would have taken action sooner.
Have you had any swings in parameters lately? How are your nutrients, and algae problems? I don't see any bite marks or anything so I'd also look at other factors. If aefw you'll see eggs along the edges of good tissue. It's always good practice to keep an eye out for pests but I'd look at other possibilities as well. The frag looks like it is bouncing back/or declining from something.
You can see bite marks better if you take the coral out of water and take a picture with flash away from the tank lights. That's how I saw my first bite marks after months of denial.
I would put it lower in you tank for a short time and let it heal on it's own instead of stressing it further by cutting on it. If it's healthy enough to survive on it's own, it will come back better that before. JMO
