As the lights were going down for the evening yesterday, I saw my bleeding apple scoly jetted a puff of cloud into the water column.
The clown went after some of it. The rest disappeared into the tank. It happened very fast.

Sounds like a spawning event to me
The longer I think about it, me too; "It happened very fast."

Edit: Anyone out there have a similar side show going on in their aquarium with a Scoly? Real answers are more useful than mine, sometimes? :)

Happened today with a Croc island scoly. Continuous puff of smoke, little things floating in the water. Happened pretty fast, I took a quick look at the tank. Left side of tank has 5 croc island scolys, right side has 6 scolys. Pretty cool observation. Happened during the day.

Man, I would have turned my flow off mostly and see if I could get any to settle.

Also where can I see this tank?

Thanks. Really nice when they’re all inflated.
My warpaint went through a hellacious 2022. From a tank break, to a fire that engulfed the temp tank, to packing in a tub, low light low flow, lost all of the teal highlight.

After 6 weeks back stable, it's finally coming back into the color. I'm so stoked.

Good to hear. I purchased a ‘saved’ warpaint frag last year, had points to use. It’s round now, no more slice.
What do you feed yours?

I've watched bowerbankis do the same thing and assumed it was a spawning event but have never had any babies pop up. Euphyllia have spawned and I've found babies.

I don't even know how scolies reproduce (is the spawning event itself enough, or is there more to the process?), but it would be super cool if spawning resulted in baby scolies in a home reef!
