Alright guys, new at scolys. Have had all types of corals successfully for years but this one is not in my expertise. I just bought it Saturday, it has seemed kinda folded since I bought it but today I came home to find it way more folded than it has been and its mouth was slightly open. I gave it a small piece of krill which it ate in about 10 minutes. I always saw pictures of scolys laying flat, not even remotely folded like this one. The weird part is the skeleton seems to curve some where it's folded, not sure if that's normal or not either.

I haven't had any major changes to my tank lately. I dose alkalinity and noticed it was low (6dkh) Sunday and have slowly brought it up to 8dkh as of today which has never bothered anything before.

Just for sake of ruling out parameters I did a full run of tests today:
455 calc
8 Dkh
1120 magnesium
0.2 nitrates
0 phosphates
8 ph
0 Ammon
0 nitrites (figured id test Ammon and nitrites for the hell of it)

Let me know if I forgot anything. Thanks guys. Look forward to hearing from the scoly experts out there.

Appears fine to me; looks like the skeleton is simply shaped that way.

As an aside, you should raise your Mg level to ~1350. It'll be hard to maintain you Alk/Ca with it so low. Having Mg 3x your desired Ca level is a good rule of thumb.

Never saw a scoly with that shape. And nice coloring too. When i first saw the picture thought it was a lobo or trachy.

Thanks evolved, never really kept an eye on magnesium so I'll get that in check.

And it was sold to me as a scoly and I am pretty sure it is one, I can see what you mean about the shape looking like a lobo, couldn't agree more.

Thanks for comments guys.

Looks very healthy!

Glad everyone thinks it looks healthy. Don't know why I freaked out because the more I look at the picture the more I think it looks fine.

I've seen them come in some pretty odd shapes. Yours looks just fine. Give it frequent feedings and it'll thrive.
