Hi everyone. Please help! I bought this little guy on Black Friday (a pair actually) and he’s been doing ok until about 3 days ago. They were eating ok and now the male won’t eat at all. Yesterday he was attached to the Gorgonia and didn’t move at all. Today he he is like this.
Ammonia is < 0.15 (Salifert)
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 25.
Ph 8.0
Temp 74
Specific gravity 1.026

LFS was feeding reef frenzy and he was eating Mysis just fine. I don’t know what to do

doesnt look good nor it sounds good either what you are telling. I am not an expert at keeping sea horses. maybe there are internal parasites. i'll get some help for you. #reefsquad

Thanks. This is him now. He is breathing a little slower than the female.

It’s all posted in initial post

Get a pic with white light please?

ammonia even at 0.15 is dangerous, is it not absolutely 0? can you check with another kit?
It can burn gills and internal organs even at those low levels. could be a starting point or internal parasites.

Any ammonia is really bad. An established tank should never have ammonia. How long have you had the tank? How long has it been running?

Ammonia?
@Samira Waters

I just did a waters change. My qt has other fish in it and has high nitrites so can’t put him in there. Is that what’s wrong, ammonia?? Will prime help?

You need to get the ammonia down ASAP. How long has the tank been running?
Did you cycle it?
IMO the ammonia is one of your big problems.

I only have api and salifert test. I trust salifert more. I cycled this tank for about 2 months before I got them but I recently added more sand which I’m thinking it’s going through a mini cycle.

Shouldn’t add Ammonia if you only added sand.

I did about a 30% water change already. What else can I do?
