Is my skimmer functioning properly?

Been struggling with my skimmer. It was running great for months and recently the foam hasn’t been getting more than halfway up the neck. I raised the water level and turned up the air. Does this look like it’s running properly? I’m not sure 100% what it’s supposed to look like. I do know that I want it to take 4+days to fill the cup and I like to keep my nutrients pretty high (Does wet skimming or dry skimming reduce/prevent nutrients more?) I test and dose nitrate and phosphate twice a week.

It would depend on organics available to be skimmed ?

I did just add a ton of inverts so maybe that’s what caused it to stop skimming

Skimmers do weird things .
Especially hang on or in sump models .
I don’t notice much with my external but I’m sure it’s performance fluctuates as well

I have read if : for example you have an undersized skimmer it will work it’s heart out to keep up and will constantly produce skimmate And opposite with oversized skimmers. .
They will work well as long as the same organics are available .
They will require adjustment once the level of organics reduces ?

Not 100% sure if I believe it or how much is true . Only repeating what I read years ago
