Hi everyone

New to reefing and slowly building my system with the right gear.

I have a Reefer 450 that I bought second-hand and because of my job which involves travelling away a lot I want to automate this tank as much as possible.

I have just purchased a Clarisea SK5000 and will be removing the sock holders from the sump. I plan to put an extra baffle in to divide the skimmer from the refugium. This means it will be Clarisea to skimmer to refugium to return pump.

My question is due to having a large rollermat and refugium will a Nyos 220 be to big a skimmer?

Thanks for your help LC8Sumi. I thought that. Considering I'll be starting slow I might have to get the small one and upgrade later as my system grows.

The NYOS 220 is a big beast for 450 litres, even if it will fit in the sump, so I would look at the Quantum 160 as already said above. I have a 160 as well and it’s silent and will be fine for a tank of your size.

I’ve also go the Quantum 300 for my new system, and there great skimmers and very well designed
