Hey! I think I finally fixed my skimmer, I just wanted to make sure its working properly now.

Btw, thats the amount of skim mate after 3 days.

Ok
what size tank, how many and kind of fish, and what and how often do you feed them?

Do you have a fuge?

Kinda need to know a few things to get a ball park.

It looks very dark , so may be skimming on the dry side

75 gallon tank

no fuge

yellow tang, 2 fire fish, 2 clownfish, 2 orange spotted goby

I just switched to New Life Spectrum Pellets from Cobalt Aquatics Flakes

Ok. I personally run mine a bit on the wet side but I think you’re ok.

Dry skimming produces less liquid in the bottom of the cup. People who run wet generally have a higher tank water/bubble interface level inside of the skimmer body, either by closing down the outflow or increasing the pump speed into the skimmer, or by increasing the water depth in the submerged skimmer, to name the three methods I have used and there are probably more. The "skimmate" tends to be clearer because the scum is more diluted with tank water when a skimmer runs wet.

Dry skimming tends to produce darker skimmate like what your skimmer is collecting in the cup.

I'm full of words this evening. I hope this is helpful? (Oh, and your skimmer does appear to be skimming nicely. I just emptied my cup and it was darker like yours.)

What do you mean when you say the wet side? sorry

No need to be sorry! Took me a while to learn it and figure it out too.

Now I’m explaining in my simple terms here!

So by raising or lowering the water level, you make more or less bubbles. More bubble going up and into the cup is wetter. Less bubbles up and into the cup is drier.

Wetter is more water and a lighter color

If yours works like mine, when you turn the knob clockwise, does more bubbles go up and into the cup?

I wish I knew you was writing that!

Agree, this is not much skimmate for three days. If you wish to remove more organics from your system each day, you would adjust the skimmer to fill the cup every day.
