As per the title is my snail growing Chaeto

Agreed with above not chaeto. I'd scrubb it off...looks like bryopsis, not sure tho.
 
He's in a little jar on his own I'll leave it bee and see how it goes. It seems to be tubular in structure .

+1 on bryopsis. The image pictured above resembles bryopsis just starting to spread. It looks exactly like this on my glass :) Think of Chaeto as stands of hair. From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t attach itself like bryopsis or other algae’s do. Regardless, it’s your choice to see what happens or scrape it off. I hope your snail lives a long && healthy life! :)
 
It has grown some more. Doesn’t seem to have the fern structure of bryopsis

I have a snail that has macro algae growing on it. Though it isn’t green... worst case it’s algae take the snail out and brush it off. Doesn’t look like bryopsis or hair algae. I think your little guy is safe‍♂️
 
He's in an experimental jar so I'm going to just observe for the time being.
 
It could also be a type of turf algae
 
A little update. It’s grown more in the daylight.
