I have had a hair algae problem for about a month, my starburst polyp seemed fine. Now for about 2 days it hasn’t opened. I’m fairly new to having soft corals and I just wanna know of there’s anything I can do to help it. My other corals all seem perfectly fine. I test my water every week. I do a 10% water change every week. Any suggestions would be amazing.

What are your parameters and when was the last waterchange in relation to them closing up? GSP can be finicky sometimes, I have especially had trouble with it in tanks that are especially low-nutrient.

I did a 10% 2 days ago so every Friday I do a water change.
PH-8.2
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Ammonia-0
My calcium, magnesium, and salinity test kits are shipping to me as we speak.

my Xenia, trumpet, frogspawn, tube coral, and duncan are doing perfectly fine. I noticed a little green poking up from the starburst but then I looked under that piece and the other was brown poking out. So maybe it’s losing its color which means it Dosnt have enough calcium? Idk though

It’s starting to open back up, but some of the polyps are brown and looks dead, am I paranoid or is there something wrong with it?

It's probably changing color but I wouldn't worry that's it's dying just yet. Has it been in the same location the whole time? Any new pumps or adjustments to lights?

I attached a slw20 and it flew some polyps off but other than that it’s glued to the rock. 8hr lighting schedule

Does the flow change line up with when they started closing up? They are a low to medium flow at most coral so they would definitely close up in high flow conditions. They may adjust to higher flow with time but only within reason.

No they have a low to moderate flow, the current bounces off the glass back at them, the slw-20 was way to powerful and made all my coral close up. I ordered a smaller wave maker.
