Is my sump working properly?

i was just wondering if this set up looks correct. My skimmer and uv are in the third chamber. What I'm concerned with is that the plant grew like a weed the first few weeks. Its been over a month now since I've noticed any more growth. Its that ok or is something wrong now? Also if you can tell in the picture the top of the plant keeps turning brown i also don't know if that Is normal. This is my first refugium setup so i want to make sure its ok.

Set up looks good. If your Cheato isn't growing, then you have no nutrients in the water for it to eat up. Meaning, you could feed the tank a bit more and get away with it.

My nitrates are high tho like 40 ppm

Hmm, what kind of flow rate is going through there? What light is on it?

5000k cool natural sunlight flood with a built in reflector and I'm not sure what the flow is exactly its in the middle not to fast

I'd get a 6700k lamp on it, and find out what the flow is, you may want to add a powerhead in there if the cheato isn't moving.

I've read where tumbling is a good thing to help chaeto grow.

Maybe I'll get a power head going the other way to keep it moving around then
