Hello, I was doing some maintenance on my biocube 16, which is only about 6 months old, and noticed this crack in the bottom trim of the tank. Is my tank breaking and should I be worried? Thanks!

Not familiar with that tank but is that a water drip at the bottom? Has the stand been getting wet?
The trim was very slightly wet, but I may have been from the water change. The stand was completely dry.

Possibly manufacturing defect in the molding process but there is some water seepage from behind the plastic panel/bottom trim

That appears to be an impact damage to the (protective ) plastic frame. You should inspect the inside of the tank and look for cracks in the glass to determine if you have a problem that is going to get worse, or not.

I would guess that the plastic absorbed the damage, and that the glass is OK or else you probably would have had a leak /seep in the corner coming out from that area (vs dripping down from above from recent water change) before now.

Also, those trim pieces at the bottom are not as important structurally as the silicone seal inside for keeping the tank together. The cracked plastic is not anything to worry about as causing a future tank failure. Cracked glass would be, so check if you can. No crack and you should have no worries.

Its the trim and not the tank that appears damaged. Dry up area as best as you can and verify it is not wet from a leak.
It is more cosmetic that actual damage from the picture but again, verify this is the cade.

In my experience you will want to find out if its damaged ASAP. And don't let your want for the tank get in the way of what needs to be done. I had a 55g that I had leak tested and set up. after a few weeks noticed a very small leak in damaged plastic. I was so eager to get the tank set up I did a quick "fix" but drying it up and siliconing the crap out of it. And for a little bit this seemed to work... until two weeks later at 2AM the bottom of the tank fell out. I let my excitement get in the way of what needed to be done.(which is trash the damaged tank)

Lordy be! Nightmare of massive proportions!

It looks like the tank was dropped at some point. I would check the silicon inside that area of the tank. That is going to be more important than checking the trim. If the silicon is still sealed, and the glass isn't cracked, I wouldn't worry too much about the damage.

this tank appears to be a bio cube or similar which may be seamless and ok. Information on tank is vague-

It's a biocube, and too much pressure was applied to that corner at one point. I wouldn't be overly concerned...but betting it completely on the stand would be a good first step. Those stands are only meant to support weight at the corners.

That's what I thought. I call it a good gamble. Prior to setting up, although not necessary, I would run a bead of Aquarium silicone all around the bottom as an extra assurance/imsurance
