i just bought two torch coral over the weekend and on the second day, one of the torch looks paled and dead. Other torch is just doing fine. Water parameters are fine and i have not done anything other than dip the coral. Please take a look at the picture. I need advices on what can i try to save the torch?

It definitely looks like it has receded. You could do an iodine dip to make sure it is not infected. Even if it does “die” leave it in your tank for a few months, they always have the potential to come back. Keep it out of high flow and high light. Hope it gets better

Dip and decrease white and increase blues. Moderate water flow

Thanks for the advice. I am a beginner to the reef and these were my first two corals. Some said it is good to move the coral since it can put out toxic chemicals when it dies. Do you think it is ok to leave the coral for few more month?

I think if you run some carbon in your tank It won’t be a big deal at all. I like the brand Aquachar, it lasts a lot longer. Now with that said, if you notice a brown substance on it yes I would take it out (brown jelly disease).

I have Seachem Reef Dip and can it be used for iodine dip? If not, what is the best iodine dip solution.

I would just do an coral RX dip followed by a medicoral dip

I had my light timer to run from 9 am to 9 pm. The light deemer is setup as well. I have 2 clown fish, two torch coral(one is barely surviving), and some clean up crews. How should i schedule my light timer for the tank.

Coral rx pro that i have ordered before this happened is on its way but may take few more days. With the torch coral, i dipped it when i first got it last saturday with seachem reef dip. Will it be ok to do another dip after 3 days?

my LFS where i bought the coral from recommended that i scrub off the gelly with toothbrush and watch couple days. I have attached the pictures but i do not see any gellys. Any suggestions if my torch has BGD?

What is your alk, cal, mag, p04 and n03, also what lights do you use?

It’s definitely your nutrition levels! What’s your parameters.. and try to feed it reefroids.
