Is my torch dying/unhappy or just splitting

i just noticed today that in the middle of my torch there is exposed skeleton, is it unhappy/dying, or just splitting ?

Not happy. When my torches split they have a lot of tissue and no skeleton is showing. Make sure you have flow and low to medium light. Nitrates? Phosphates? Nothing too low. In fact, my torches do better when Nitrates are about 15 or so, even 20. Some Phosphate is fine also.
