Is my two spot goby skinny?

Hi,

I stupidly bought a two spot goby without any research (they were actually called something different in the LFS which did not turn up any results when I tried to Google from LFS). I’ve since learnt they’re incredibly difficult to keep alive.

I have had mine for 2 weeks now and I am worried he is looking skinny or is it in my head? He does sometimes eat frozen mysis shrimp if put directly in front of him but nothing else.

I really love this little guy so I hope I can keep him alive but I reckon it will be a challenge.

It does look somewhat thin. One of my favorites; you will probably need to continue target feeding especially if you have other fish that swim faster and will get most of the food. Worth the extra effort imo.
I feed bloodworms occasionally, the usual frozen and TDO pellets - I think variety is key.

Thanks for the reply! I really love him, he bounces around the tank like a rabbit ha.

Any chance you could say whether you reckon mine looks healthy? Or is he a bit on the skinny side? I’m relatively new to the hobby so not sure how to tell!

Don't think they develop rounded bellies even with a lot of food and the somewhat concave shape is normal I think. Couple of good youtube videos and one shows a breeding pair in Ocean. Assume they are healthy and you can compare yours with them. Understand that female "buries" male in cave with her eggs so he can better tend them, btw. And yeah, I like to watch them hover around the tank.
