Is my Wall Hammer in hospice?

I’ve had this Wall Hammer in my tank for roughly 8 months. It was one of my first corals and always seemed happy, but never grew much.

Over the last few days I have noticed it declining in size and even skeleton showing in a portion. Based off my review of the Internet, the odds don’t look great, but perhaps someone has experience with a similar situation and recovery. I always knew wall hammers were fickle, but sucks to see it happening. I have not lost a coral before.

Let’s start with your parameters, and also....has any swings in calc, alk or mag happened that he just won’t recover from ?

In my experience with hammers, especially wall hammers once a part of it recedes into the skeleton it is most likely going to die. The are really sensitive to sand or even a pinched polyp. My wall hammer took a while to die, but once it stared to go there was nothing i could do. It was the first coral i lost too! Dont feel bad, They are tricky.
