IS MY WAR CORAL OKAY ?

Hey Guys, I just recently got this War Coral from LiveAquaria & to me, it isn't passing the eye test. I'm a Newbie & have no idea how to gauge how my War Coral is doing so far, i'm just alarmed because of all the different ones i've seen.. mines looks a little 'dusty' for lack of better words. I held out hope because it's been looking like this since I got it & was wondering if you guys could help me out a little. Thanks

I would put it on the bottom of the tank, so it has time to get used to your lights.

Okay that's a good thought, i just recently moved my Zoas & theyre doing great so far. Can't give you my parameters off the dome but last I checked two days ago everything was running up to par. haven't gotten a chance to do a water change yet, my tanks been going for about 6-7 weeks now and up until a few days ago it hadn't had anything in it . I'll move my WC and hopefully it's just what you said, needing a little time to adjust. Thanks Man

Favias are usually low light corals. Put it on the sand bed or bottom or your tank. Its also kinds brownish. I assume you have the red and green mouthed war coral right ? Could also be because you have all white lights it looks like. Reds generally look brown under all whites

I put my war coral at the bottom of the tank low flow med light, it needs enough of a blue light period to color up tho.

Alright thanks a lot for the info . I think a little small tweak to my blue light schedule will do the trick, also gonna move it to the bottom for sure

I noticed on your page that you are a new reefer, welcome! You should post pics of your setup to get advice on optimization for your tank. People on here have tons of experience and many tricks of the trade I had never even discovered till I got on r2r. Happy Reefing!

Lower light and patience. It'll bounce back, but they are slow growers
