Is Phytoplankton Good?

Hi all,
I just did some research before purchasing phyto and couldn’t find a post on R2R where the benefits/drawbacks of phyto were described. Does anyone want to give their $.02 on phyto dosing?

Phyto IMO is amazing, Helps feed critters like pods, stony corals and acro's and some have said it helps lower nutrient levels, The only downside is u may over pollute your water if you add too much but it's pretty hard to overdose

All food items have the potential to raise nutrient levels since they naturally contain things like phosphate and nitrogenous compounds. The way you use the food is important. We have conservative dosage information to help you avoid overfeeding. The dose can be increased over time as long as you continue to see water quality parameters at acceptable levels.

Phyto-Feast Live contains live algae which has the ability to utilize phosphate and nitrogenous compounds in the aquarium which can be beneficial to overall water quality. The cells in this product are only alive for roughly 3 months. Phyto-Feast contains non-viable cells (dead algae) which is perfectly fine as a food source for inverts. This product has a shelf-life of up to 9 months and is highly concentrated.
