I have a small leak in my sump. I’m going to repair is but I had to stop it from leaking. Is plumbers putty going to harm my tank in any way?

Various searches in the net

Plumber's putty formulations vary but commonly include powdered clay and linseed oil.

Clay is a finely-grained natural rock or soil material that combines one or more clay minerals with traces of metal oxides and organic matter. Geologic clay deposits are mostly composed of phyllosilicate minerals containing variable amounts of water trapped in the mineral structure.

Linseed oil, also known as flaxseed oil or flax oil, is a colourless to yellowish oil obtained from the dried, ripenedseeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum). The oil is obtained by pressing, sometimes followed by solvent extraction.

I wouldnt use it :)
