Is Providone-Iodine the same as "iodine" for dipping

I was always taught not to use that as a coral dip. It contains PVP as a delivery agent for the iodine. It can be prepared in different ways, but the issue is that some preparations also contain adjuncts like nonoxl-9, glycerin. So - never having used it as a dip, I can't tell you if it is safe (grin).

Not sure if it translates but my daughter uses it to dip her reptiles and I know that they are pretty sensitive to chemicals. She mixes it up to a light tea color (her words). She uses it on snakes and geckos for what it's worth.

For tough sheds or mites or something? Used to breed bearded dragons, leopard "geckos", chameleons, and various snakes back in the day.

Tough sheds mostly but she does it prophylactically for mites too. She is extremely paranoid about parasites.

As of right now she has 7 ball pythons, and 2 geckos a fat tail and a leopard. If you ever want your kids to learn genetic theory get them interested in ball pythons. She's planning ahead by 3 generations with about 10 different genes.
