Is reef energy food alternative?

I've had saltwater tanks for years, but I just recently got into the coral game. I started a nano reef in November and I having good success.

I have been feeding BRS reef chili 2-3 times a week. Now, I am actually learning that some people don't feed at all! I don't think I have enough fish in the tank to support feeding by fish waste so I think that supplemental feeding is necessary in my case.

I have been looking into Red Sea reef energy A and B. Is this to be used as an alternative to feeding or in addition to feeding?

They supplement whatever is needed. Normally, amino acids, vitamins are being produced for the corals by zooxanthellae (form of photosynthetic algae) that resides within the coral membranes itself (about 60-80%) of what they need depending on the species of coral(s).
However, these supplementing scheme may or may not fully benefit the coral but will surely help fill in whatever is missing.
Furthermore,both major and minor elements are also being replaced through regular water change that may be consumed or collected by your protein skimmer.
I usually turn off my protein skimmer for 24-36hrs after dosing supplements like Reef Energy A&B but only dose these 1-2x a week since I do add different supplements through an automatic doser.
