Is Shark Eye Snail reef safe? With picture.

We are currently vacationing at Panama City Beach and my son found a Shark Eye Snail. Is this safe to put in my reef tank? Anyone keep these?

I'm not sure what the temperature of the water is like at Panama City Beach, but the temperatures we keep our reefs at and what this snail is accustomed to might be a problem. This question also reminded me of an article regarding a different snail that sometimes shows up in the hobby. Maybe give this a quick read before you bring the snail home. HTH. GL.

Shark Eye Snails (Neverita duplicata) are a species of Moon Snail (family Naticidae) - they are predatory and feed on bivalves (clams, oysters, etc.) and other snails. So, you can keep them, but they may feed on any other snails and clams in the tank.
