I dont know if iv been watching a lot of instagram videos for the reef tanks with gyres, and it does seem its a different game with gyre with wave makers.

When i turn off my return pump, this is the flow only for my mp40s is that enough? Or even good. I know i have to wait for corals and fish, but like not sure.

to see flow inside the tank, you can use an airstone to see where the bubble go, cannot judge the flow from the top down perspective of the video.

As for surface agitation, personally just me, I do like to see more surface agitation on my tanks, but if you have a skimmer then you greatly reduce the concern of oxiginating the water. Also important about surface agitation is to avoid oily surface buildup which decreases the effectiveness of the lights. You can usually see an oily surface by looking upwards. If those 2 points are covered then your good IMO
