I'm curious if the controller is always adjusting up or down (even tiny increments) to the next point couldn't you just use 3 points? One to turn on, one at midday, and one at lights out. If I set 6 points isn't my highest point at my middle and then after it hits that high point it's starting to slowly go down over the next period of time to the next point? Do I need to set two midday points to have it stay at say 60% color 45% intensity for the entire duration of those points?

I use 5 points to ramp and hold peak. I like to use a mid day point, that way when I want to increase the intensity, I do so in smaller increments. I start by raising the 14:00 point, then after 3 or 4 weeks I'll raise 11:00 and 17:00 to the same intensity. This is what I've been doing for the past 2 years and it works for me. I run two T5's with my Kessil's and I just reached the same peak period. I started out running the T5's for an hour each day for a week or two, then increased by another hour and so on until now. When I replace the bulbs, I reduce the time by an hour or two, then slowly ramp up again. More info then you needed, but you get the idea.
8:00 - 0%
11:00 - 65%
14:00 - 70%
17:00 - 65%
20:05 - 0%

I believe it is if that's how you set it. For example:
8:00- 20%
12:00- 50%
5:00- 20%
Ect...

I set mine like this
8:00- 20%
10:00- 20%
12:00- 50%
5:00- 50%
Ect...

That way it's only adjusting from 10:00 to 12;00 and you have constant level of light output. I think whatever you choose is fine though.
