Is the OG bounce mushroom worth it

So I’ve always been a big sps/euphyllia guy and in my old 40 I had some discosomas that became a plague issue so I swore off mushrooms for a long time lol. I also saw this coral (og bounce) a couple years back at a swap when it was around $1000-1500 and was not a fan. However idk why but I’ve been on a bounce shroom kick lately and have been contemplating getting some with the og at the top of my list.
My tank currently is pretty stocked but has some areas for a centerpiece type coral. I guess my main question is should I expect the crazy bubbling monster coral you see on all the websites or just mediocre size bubbles and a decent colored Shroom? It seems like you can get a return on it once it does grow out which I like too. If I’m gonna get back into a shroom I feel like it’s a decent one, right? Lol

In my local group small frags cost 250 around, these prices are going down these days

I know a local reefer has og bounce mushrooms for sale for a good deal. I'mDefinitely looking to try and get one amazing in person.

I just spent $300 on 7 high end sps frags. And that was me going nuts. I would never ever spend that much on one piece.
Wouldn’t matter if it was the rarest coloration imaginable.

I just ordered a Sunkist, figured I’d start on the lower end. Figure I’m not in a rush and will just keep my eyes posted for a deal or wait til a frag swap and hope for a cheaper one.
the most expensive thing in my tank is a 21 tails torch I got for $180 with 2 heads. Everything else is sub $100 so I’m definitely in the I try to buy corals at a reasonable rate club. I think all the 3-400 dollar tenuis acros are absurd and all look the same. That said I think the og bounce is pretty cool and unique (not $1000). I also feel like it being a mushroom makes it a little safer buy than high end acros or single polyp zoas. But that’s just my opinion.

I didn't like the og bounce either... then I somehow traded for 1 and it quickly became my favorite specimen in the tank!

Bought on 6 months ago. Was 1.5" , now around 3. My favorite coral. Now I can frag it a make money and still have one. Definitely worth it.

my local reefers sell a frag of og for 250, dont buy from internet without comparing their prices.

Worth it if you like it, otherwise not if you are like me. Also not a smart idea to treat it as investment- trends come and go, bounce shrooms will eventually cool off and become worthless like so many before them

Not the greatest of all bounces but definetely worth what I see some being priced at these days and thats only if you can find a good natural split baby with proven old school lineage.
I wouldn't buy a frag. Way too many reefers buying unhealthy frags of other reefers unhealthy frags that are being passed around.
