Got a free red sea 425 XL that was running. Glass cracked around one of the drilled holes at the bottom of the tank during transport.

Can this be repaired by placing another piece glass or acrylic with the same holes over this cracked area and siliconing it over the damaged glass

Or am I better off just throwing this tank out?

here's an option. might not be a very good one. BUT...

DIY plywood bottom tank. I have a RS 350 the broke in shipping. I have the stand and side panels. at some point ( when I finish the basement man cave I am going to attempt a this.

is that a G1 or G2 tank?
if G1 that might have just saved you a seem failure.
