I have a Kenya tree that’s been on my rock for about 2 weeks. I picked up a Xenia frag today. Is this placement too close? Will they sting each other?

Softies generally don’t sting each other - they can touch with no issues.
I’d be more worried about the Xenia spreading and eventually taking over the tank since it has access to the main rockwork.

Xenia won't sting, and neither will the kenya tree. Kenya trees do Biological warfare, which you don't have to worry about.

That’s kind of the plan. I’d like to get some things that grow tall on the main rock and let the Xenia kinda grow under it.

Will the activated carbon in the filter handle that?
I am not to sure, but be careful of any pieces of it that fall off. It will bother the tissue of coral if that's where it lands. They also, grow like a weed and are extremely difficult to get rid of. Same with xenia. Just keep that in mind.

Yes I know they can grow out of hand. That’s why I went with these. I don’t want real complex corals as of now but still want some color and movement.
