Is the refugium too small?

I have a 75 gallon tank with a trigger 26 sapphire sump. Thinking about turning the middle section into a refugium. Is this space large enough to do any good? If I did this would the tunze fuge light be the best option to for light spillage? The center section is 7.5 x 12.5.

With a good light and some chaeto that will do a great job. I have one a little bigger than that on my 120 that Im blasting with light and Im having a hard time keeping nitrates detectable.

One might argue any degree of controlled algae growth is beneficial.
