Is the transparent Capetsma Aquarium Thermometer accurate?

I have a normal thermometer with the little probe that sits in the tank using a suction cup. I’m curious how accurate the capetsma aquarium thermometer is. I like that it does not have an in-water temperature probe and is partially transparent. I wonder if the fact that it doesn’t have an in-water probe would cause it to be less accurate. If you have one, please tell me if you’re pleased with it.

You should get yourself an NIST certified thermometer.

That will be your verified instrument to "compare" everything else you want to it.

I ended up throwing everything else away.

My ranco temp controllers read within a degree to my NIST device anyways.
