What your seeing are messentrials filaments. Corals use them for defense and digestion.

I had a bunch of Yuma’s melt and the first sign was seeing those stringy pieces in their mouth, it looked like brown spaghetti. How long have you had this ric?

I've had it like 2 months it's done pretty well it's been as large as 3 inchs in diameter. It been freaking out the last couple days though

I def think they're filaments. Why are they there is the question. He appears to be stretching for light which might make the flesh translucent enough to see them.
