Hey guys so I started my 55 gallon back in may, the I bought my coral in August. Well it’s February and my coral still hasn’t really grown much I have two Duncan , one Toadstool, one Pandora zoanthid, one candy can coral, one acan, one mushroom, one RFA, and finally one hairy mushroom. Nobody has really grown the Pandora zoanthids are not even spreading of the frag plug, the mushroom originally had two heads and now it only has one the toadstool has stayed the same size my Duncan corals started to grow three new heads then just kind of froze there there’s no new coroline algae anywhere. any suggestions will be great

The tank is about 10 months old I have three wave makers on it it has great wavy flow, my lighting is a USA current orbit marine light that grows softies and lps great but I’m looking to change that very soon!!

What are you feeding them? Tanks can be somewhat sterile until they get established. The food has to come to them, they’re filter feeders.
I feed them all sorts of foods, phytoplankton, zooplankton, mysis shrimp, plankton, and baby brine shrimp.

Pandoras are kinda like weeds so surprised you don’t have any growth with them.

Most times I see someone using a current usa lights on here that is at least part of the problem. Have you ever used a par meter in your tank by chance?

I do not have a par meter…. I told myself I would need it but every time the opportunity comes along I say I’ll get it next time uhhhhh!!

calcium looks a bit low, and that could inhibit the growth of stony coral, along with low lighting and a rather tall tank.

I would still be surprised that you arent getting any growth at all though.

are you using rodi water, and what salt are you using?

I use pure rodi water and Red Sea coral pro reef salt it’s really good!!

I prefer reef chili from BRS to reef roids.

Soft corals can be slow growing then fast growing in my experience.
Keep doing (or start) regular water changes whether that's biweekly monthly or weekly, but overall soft corals like more nutrients in the water. You have many more soft corals than hard corals from what I gather.

Continue to be patient. As long as they are not shrinking or dying then you are doing fine.
