I grew interest into coldwater tanks and was wondering if there were any places online that sells them like strawberry nems, waratah nems, and what not.

If you got any pics please share also

Thank you

There was a place that I found when I thought about setting up one. I'll see if I can find the link

There really aren't any common stores, and the one I've seen online isn't great... I do know a couple divers who collect though - do you have a CW set-up currently? LMK if you want their contact info, great guys to deal with and can get you what your want...

I have a spare 10 gallon with a chiller on hand and was just tossing the idea around. I have always wanted catalina gobies and cw anemones.

thanks for the help

FWIW, any standard tank really won't work for a CW set-up, namely because they "sweat" - like a cold beer bottle on a summers day.

Even for smaller tanks (60 gals or so) the acrylic needs to be 1" thick in order to prevent sweating... oh yea and acrylic is ideal due to the weight issue with 1"+ glass ;)

Here's a quote from Steve Weast:
"I chose 1” thick acrylic after seeing another coldwater tank that a diving buddy had in his home. His tank was a standard 60 gal tank made from ½” thick acrylic. He experienced fogging on the acrylic when his room temperature was above 80 F and full sweating above 90 F. I wished to completely eliminate all fogging and sweating and thought that 1” thick acrylic would do the trick. In the three years that these tanks have been running, they have yet to sweat a drop even during 100 degree days.

Why would a tank ever be in a room over 70 degrees???? Am I missing something? I can't see why it would be an issue with sweating, etc...

I live in Florida and my house never gets over 74. Even when it is 100 outside. The electric company loves me......lol

Divers Den has cold water stuff from time to time...

Man those jewel anemones are sweet looking. It would be cool (no pun intended LOL) to see cold water tanks take off.

I agree :D This is all just an extension of me keeping coldwater as a hobbyist. So if some day I could quit my day job and do it full time that'd be sweet, I can only take working at a giant corporate bank for so long  lol.
