Is there any fish that you just cannot keep alive?

That's unfortunate! I would be happy to help, I've had ridiculous success and find them easier than most. Maybe it's collection changes that have helped me, not sure

A fellow hobbyist and friend has one in his tank that he has had for a few years and it just kills me to see how well his continues to thrive and eats when he feeds his tank.
My last Leopard was eating but didn't stay out very long.

In my experience, leopards do best if purchased in groups, in to an established tank, and fed Blackworms and mixed frozen foods soaked in selcon and garlic guard.

If I wanted a group of say 3, I would buy maybe 5. Mix them up! It's much easier to add to your leopard wrasse collection than it is to add a single leopard or even a group at a time (although IME a group is a bit easier than singly).

One easy solution is to buy any leopard species that is established in someone else's tank, or at a minimum one from divers den. I swear seeing other leopards or wrasses eating and being healthy and active makes them want to survive and compete. No proof of this but it's one of the things I attribute to my success. I have ten leopards as we speak.

I have had no luck with Anthias of any kind. I've kept some fish that are very hard to keep and had no problems. Even kept a cleaner wrasse and rock beauty for years on end but no luck with Anthias!!!

Also copperband butterfly! Anyone know the secret to keeping these? They are my favorite fish, so I wish I could keep one alive for more than a few months.

I read someone say they had a Desjardini sailfin disappear. Sounds almost paranormal. Lol

I think in most cases the CUC has something to do with this.

I can't keep Bangaii Cardinals alive for some reason. I've tried 9 and only just now have had 1 survive so far. I have high hopes for this one!

I've had 3 hippo tangs, a yellow tang and 3 flame angels. Months at best:-( they alway s eat fine during feedings but slowly get thinner until I watch them die. :--( I keep manderins, wrasse, dottyback, cardinals, clowns, gobys. But for whatever reason these first mentioned just don't make it. Firefish always disappear. Way to skiddish and docile. I think you need a dedicated nice fish tank for them. I did have a purple for almost a year. Then disappeared.

I'm 0 for 3 for long nosed butterflies. They all were doing great, eating well for weeks/months, and then one day just crashed... (not at the same time, this was three separate attempts)
