Is there any saving this green slimer? What are possible causes to this? I have a pink lemonade that had its polyps extended constantly until my 3 day blackout due to dino’s

Trim the top of the closest arm and it might live , did you have an alk swing or low nutrients with zero light? Gl

You may be able to salvage the tip of it by cutting the tip with bone Cutters! Just be sure to cut it in the healthy tissue. Check water parameters however!
Good luck

I cut the one tip. Shall see what happens. There was phosphates measureable. But nitrates have been zero. I have avoided water changes to get them up

If you've had dinos recently there's been a nutrient disbalance in your tank and that has certainly impacted your SPS coral as well. You need to increase your nutrients.

The piece I cut off did not make it either. I picked up a alk test and ph test today. All appears to be 7.7 and ph Around 8.3?

this is my first time with the 2 tests above. nitrates are 0(stopped water changes to get it up) and phosphates are .25

How long has the tank been running? Could be multiple reasons why the coral started dying, but my feeling is that it is linked to the imbalance in nutrients. Did you make a big water change after you ended the blackout?

The tips still got a chance though. I've made it with less living tissue than that to grow back into a full sized colony.

No water change after.

No water change after.

I did a blackout like this about a year ago and also medicating dinoxal during the time. This created a lot of dead dinos and I did no water change, which resulted in a huge nitrate and phosphate spike from basically zero.. I solved the dino problem but created a cyano problem for several months ahead. In this event I lost most of my corals. If I would ever do this again in the future then I would definetly do atleast a 30% waterchange right after the blackout.

The tests I did last night were roughly a week after my blackout. Still reading 0 nitrates

How is your other corals doing?

I would do one or two more tests to reassure that the nitrate level is 0 each time. Then I would add up some nitrate since you don't want 0 in the long run. How severe was your dino outbreak?

Taking some water to WWC sat to see if my tests are coming out wrong and they are going to do some I dont have tests for
