Is there a reason I shouldn't run carbon on a 34g LPS dominate tank? I will probably run it in a bag in my media basket I just got. I was planning on it but my LFS said they wouldn't

There is nothing wrong with carbon. I will suggest that when you rinse it you do so with DI water, but unless you run a ton of it there is nothing wrong with it. I'm curious now, why did they think it was bad? We've been hearing a lot of bad advice from stores on here lately.

She asked me that type of corals I was planning on doing and when I said LPS she said I shouldn't no explanation but I can text her

Just called her and she said I could but it is not necessary. My bad. Question still stands though is there anything wrong with carbon?

My guess is that because LPS can prefer more nutrient rich water, the concern is that carbon may strip and clean it too much?

You did not have to run it continuously. I run it for a day or two to polish the water.
In my 40 I usually put a 1/4 of a cup in a knee high stocking, tied off.
If your LPS do not like they will tell you.
