you want to kill it or frag it off? If you can get to the rock just chip a peice off under it and trade it out for something else.

It's probably a bunch of random babies all over the tank... Pocillopora has been know to spawn in the home tank.

I've seen the dark green varieties spawn more than others. I'm sure there have been others. One of the LFS's here has a big showtank and one spawned and is ALL over the place. I believe the owner would think twice about putting another one in a tank...and it's not an attractive piece.

That being said, there are some really nice poci's out there and I would assume they would all have the ability to do this.

Poccilopora doesn't necessarily spawn in our tanks very often. What it does is called "polyp bail out." This is a defense mechanism, in order to save itself, when it senses "impending doom." Because it's polyps are larger than a lot of other corals, AND because it's so much more likely to undergo Polyp Bail Out, it's much more commonly found as a hitchhiker, or self transplanted, in our tanks.

I get the odd poci sprout here and there as well. I have been procrastinating when it comes to eliminating these little extras though I plan to just "glue" them when I get around to it.

green poci is almost more like xenia when it comes to being a nuisance. I'd pull the colony and just get rid of it. Unless you really really like it. I used to just take a tweezers and crush the little "babies". It's cool at first but you'll be happier without it in there.

Kalk paste will kill them also. I had this happen a couple yrs ago. I don't keep any in my tank because of it. I was glad to finally get rid of them off my rocks.
