Is there such a fish?

Hello,

I have recently converted my tank to mostly SPS with a few chalices and favia. The problem is that there are some green stars, yellow polyps, zoas, mushrooms, and anthelia that I cannot kill. I am looking for a fish that will eat all soft coral but not bother favia, chalices and also my rock anemone. I have been looking in the angel species, so far I have come up with a french angel. Let me know what you think would be a good option; or if there is another way to get rid of them let me know!

Want to buy my coral beauty angel? He seems to have developed a taste for all of the above. @#%$@$%. Needless to say hes going to be going back to his home in the cubicle at the LFS soon, and be replaced with something a little less hit-or-miss.

I have to kill them because they are killing my SPS they grow way too fast. The rocks they are on are HUGE so I cannot remove the rocks to frag them. They are also too thick for bone cutters to cut through them. If you have ever tried to remove GSP you will know how if there is a single piece left they will regrow! I have little pieces all over! The zoas are not so much the problem as the anthelia, GSP and Yellow Polyps.

I want to kill them because the GSP and anthelia are killing very expensive corals!

Heh, I will take the coral beauty as long as he doesnt mess with LPS SPS or anemones!

My coral beauty doesnt touch my SPS or LPS. It did kill 2-3 aiptasia at the time. Id like to see it nip at a BTA though, little punk would have something strong comin to him haha

I have actually heard that if you want to get rid of all softies in a tank with hard corals. Fluke tabs will do it. I have heard of sps guys using it to get rid of xenia and GSP in their tanks. Look into it it may be exactly what you want.

I will look into that! The only problem is that my system is connected to a zoa only system, LOL.

The nudis will not eat the GSP and the anthelia. But that is a great thought!

Maybe buy reef epoxy and smother the GSP?

apatasia stop kills most anything if you can shut flow down and let it sit on them for that matter a heavy kaulk paste will too just watch your PH.

If you dip some of your acros in fluke tabs and then put them back in the tank without rinsing them you will get rid of some of those softies for good.

They will simply deteriorate and slime away. Just do water changes, by the way they will never ever come back as long as the tank is up and running. You cannot re-introduce them either, they will die.

I have done this with some out of hand XENIA I had and it worked like a charm. No more xenia ever even if I was to put more in they would just wither away. No my SPS are super Happy

I know for a fact that the fluke tabs will not kill ZOAS and PALYS because mine are still alive LOL. It will wipe out the following:

GSP (for sure) and XENIA (for sure) and I think some mushrooms. It will not harm fish either.

I use it to dip my acros and fargs all the time.

I have tried the aptasia stop on the anthelia and it seems they dont suck it in at all, and it only makes my mushrooms spread more.

racermike- will it harm any LPS and I also have a green kenya tree in the zoa and paly only tank, will it kill that? What do you dip the acros in fluke tabs for? Also is there any other side effects I should know about with this stuff?

I have a hammer and frog spawn in my tank and they are fine. I did have a toadstool that died but I cannot say for sure if it was due to the fluke tabs. It was a frag as well and not very hardy in the first place so I am unsure there.

I use it to dip for AEFW that may come in on any new pieces I get. I do a combo of fluke tabs and interceptor for every incoming SPS coral that is going into my tank. I hate pests and parasites so I just try to prvent them at all costs LOL. Basically FLUKETBAS for AEFW (acro eating flatworms) and interceptor for redbugs, it has wroked well so far.

I do the interceptor on incoming acros. Do the fluke tabs instantly kill the corals or is it something that takes place over time? I wanted to do a little testing with a frag or two of some corals to see how they are effected.

In my case it was over a short period of time. Not really instant but not really long and drawn out. It basically took like a week for the whole thing to finish its course.

Try it out on some frags and see. it hasn't really done me any wrong yet. By the way just for those interested the doasge I use when dipping my acros is 1 pill per gallon.
