Is this a baby snail??

Saw it in the reef. Took it out right away. Has a hard calcified shell about 1/4 total size. I think it was a snail. Didnt realize it it until i killed it. Any ideas what it is??

Used some tweezers to take him out. Ended up severing him. :( Will leave the next one insee in there.
