Is this a baby xenia?

I have been watching this tiny pink dot for a few days. Today I noticed it was hairy. It's only about 5mm across.

It's hard to tell Its a coral type. You don't have any gsp in your tank ?

I do but the tissue is purple and the tips are yellow/green and not this color.

I would suspect it's an Xenia start. Do you have Xenia is your tank

It's different than the Xenia we have. If it is a Xenia will take over your tank. If you keep it, move it to a rock island.

I have 2 kinds of xenia in the tank already. This looks similar but not the same to them.

No it has been in that spot for several days. It was just a tiny pink blob at first. Now it has arms. That pic is a 100% crop from 100mm Macro lens pic. I cant see any detail yet with my eyes even with strong reading glasses.

I don't know man. Xenia usually have a stock to it that grows up and then flowers. I am just not seeing that. I would keep an eye on it. Might be a nudibranch just chilling and feeding on something.

Its GSP.
The lack of colour could be for a number of reasons. New growth isnt always purple; as with mine, the outer regions which are growing is faint purple to white in colour.

Xenia doesnt form base layers as shown in your photo.

Yes I am growing weeds.

I will let it grow and try some more pics in a few days.

I see you have bryopsis on your 2nd pic with the xenia. I would worry about that first. That is a weed. Your choice of corals is your choice. I like xenias personally. Let me know if the Vibrant works in a month.

The bryopsis is long dead. It took about 10 days. That pic is from 6/30/18

Then it is possibly not a nudibranch. I dont think they grow as fast as you stated anyways but I'm no expert.
