What's a bad paly?
Yeah, they're not Palythoa grandis. There is a grandis on the left side of the picture.
Their discs are bigger and normally they've got some white and brown patterns.
There are some that have green on their discs, just beautiful!!
Those, in the center, are a Palythoa sp. and most of them do grow fast.
I'm not sure what you mean by "bad guys", but some Palythoa spp. do push other zoanthids around.
They have an aggression behavior, and such peculiarity among the zoanthids will allow them to overgrow some of the more shy zoanthids.
I prefer to keep Palythoas on their own rocks for that reason. Some of them are just amazing with special colors.
I would just keep an eye on them, once they are already on one of the rocks.
If they are still easy to remove, I would transfer them to their own "pedestal" and place it on the sand.
Grandis.
Those are most likely Protopalythoa and not a Palythoa.
I would highly suggest getting them out now, they will overtake and outgrow just about anything.

All Protopalythoa spp. are now called Palythoa spp.
That's the new scientific nomenclature.
They don't overtake if they are isolated.
Grandis.
Again, there is nothing wrong in having them.
As long as we keep them on their own rock.
The aren't ugly at all IMO.
Grandis.
they arent ugly buy they will take over your tank, and they are really poisonous. people have gotten really sick trying to get rid of them, better safe then sorry
Yes these can in certain scenarios - cutting/pulling/I’ve even heard of people boiling rocks of them (probably the worst). Just be careful and use eye protection, gloves, and keep your mouth shut if fragging.can these release palytoxins that is very harmful and even deadly?
